A Letter to Our Sponsors
Thank you for your interest in supporting Florida Institute of Technology’s Residence Life team. Here at Florida Tech, we strive every day to reach out to all of the residents on our campus and ensure that their time living on campus is one to remember. Our team has been given the opportunity to host 350 people from about 25 schools at the Florida Resident Assistant Seminar (FRAS), a three day conference for resident assistants (RAs) from around the state taking place in January of 2016, we would like to showcase our campus and the wonderful community we live in. FRAS is an opportunity for the attending RAs to exchange knowledge and experience to bring back to the students on their home campuses. During this conference student leaders share their ideas with each other about different programing techniques that they use at their individual schools.
There is also a philanthropy challenge every year, where the entire conference tries to help out a selected organization. In the past FRAS has donated school supplies to younger students, collected can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, and collected Box Tops for education. At the conference this year Florida Tech is looking to reach more organizations and give each school the opportunity to select their own charity to donate too, along with a charity the group can donate too. We believe as RAs of Florida Tech, giving back is a responsibility that we all carry and we look forward to making a difference.
Who We are and What We Do
Residence Life strives to provide a friendly, engaging residential experience that is conducive to the academic and real-life success of the modern college student. This is accomplished through our dedication to customer service, exemplary leadership and educational programming experiences. The Residence Life team is comprised of 65 students and 2 professional staff members. At Florida Tech, RAs are selected from a large number of applicants each year after group processing and an individual interview. Each candidate brings their unique characteristics to their assigned staff in order to create the best possible team for helping residents. Throughout the year, each RA creates decorations and educational bulletin boards to provide residents information concerning academics and careers, athletics, community service, diversity, drug education, health promotions, life skills, philanthropy, safety and security, sociability, and school spirit. In addition, each RA hosts programs and events covering these topics to provide residents with more hands-on experiences and learning opportunities. The most rewarding opportunity that an RA has is their privilege to help residents feel safe and comfortable in their living environment.
What your Donation Does
By sponsoring our team and this conference you have an opportunity for a great personal or business investment. If you are sending money as an individual you can know the donation is improving students’ on-campus living experience all around the state. If you are a company donation, your name will be recognized by the entirety of the conference; the students will then bring that information back to their schools. Your product has the potential of reaching out to over 800,000 young adults on college campuses. At this conference we are able to give our sponsors opportunities to advertise their product, we are also able to offer advertisement in campus residence halls for our sponsors.
